Brian Ellis
Vice President – Southwest & Rocky Mountain Regions
Brian was introduced into the construction industry in 1975 working on footings and foundations for residential homes and light commercial buildings located in and around Salt Lake City. In 1982 he was approached by the Brown Steel Company and offered a position in the concrete reinforcing industry. In 1987 Brian became a manager for the California division of Brown Steel Co., overseeing rebar installation for projects in Northern & Southern California.
In 1989 Brian went to work for Boman & Kemp Rebar in Ogden, Utah as an operations manager, and became the responsible managing employee for both the Reinforcing and Structural Steel divisions. His primary responsibilities included sales and installation of reinforcing steel.
In July of 2004 Brian accepted a management position with JD Steel Company as their southwest regional manager in Phoenix, AZ and quickly relocated his family to Mesa, AZ where he began managing JD Steel’s rebar operations in Arizona, Southern California and New Mexico.
J.D. Steel working together with Contractors, Concrete Companies and Fabricators has developed one of the premier rebar placing companies in the Southwest.
Daniel Darger
Estimator
Daniel joined the Southwest Region team in 2012 as an Estimator. During his time in Estimating, Daniel contributed rebar estimates for projects all over the western United States from one ton to over one thousand tons. Since then, he has moved from Estimating to Detailing. Daniel takes great pride in his work and continues to grow with the JD Steel Company.
Dave Robles
Superintendent
Dave Robles has been a valued member of the JD Steel Company since 1983 when he came to us as a Journeyman Ironworker and steadily worked his way up to Lead and Foreman. After almost 20 years in the field, Dave was promoted to Superintendent of the Southwest Region. Dave’s attention to detail coupled with his ability to coordinate the direction of a project with detailers, General Contractors, subcontractors and other members of a project team have proven invaluable. His know how and ability to get the job done have made him an asset to the JD Steel team for over 35 years. Dave is dedicated to continuing the advancement and success of the JD Steel Company.
Maria Guzman
Administrative Assistant
Maria started working for JDS on December of 2017. She is an administrative assistant , and also a member of the ESOP committee since March of 2019. Her position allows her to be in constant communication with employees on the field and the southwest region administrative department.
Brad Sines
Warehouse Manager
Brad Sines has been a valued member of the JD Steel family since 1983. Brad is the Warehouse Manager for the Southwest Region and is often called on to assist other regions as well. Brad is a jack of all trades and his varied skills in all areas of construction are highly valued. He has helped in the building of our shops in Alaska, Missouri and California. Brad is a co-inventor of tools and equipment that aid in increasing both production and safety.
